Grand Lagoon Views, Shell Island, and Dolphin-Watching

Depending on the tour you book, you’ll cruise through the Grand Lagoon and along the Shell Island area for clear water, coastal scenery, and photo-worthy views.

Keep an Eye Out For Dolphins

Dolphins are spotted often on these routes, especially around golden hour. Our captains keep an eye out and make every effort to give guests a great chance at a dolphin sighting while you enjoy the ride. Since dolphins are wild, sightings can vary day to day, but it’s a common highlight of the experience.

Snorkel in Calm, Sheltered Water Near Shell Island

If you choose the snorkel option, we anchor on the St. Andrew’s Bay side of Shell Island in a more protected area that is typically less affected by rough Gulf conditions and strong currents. It’s a comfortable spot for swimming, floating, and snorkeling, especially for families, first-timers, and anyone who prefers calmer water.

Is there a bathroom on the tiki boat?

Yes. One of the biggest perks of our tiki boat is that it includes a real restroom onboard, which makes the experience much more comfortable, especially for families and longer outings.

Do you see dolphins on tiki tours?

Chevron down

Dolphins are often spotted during tiki tours, especially around golden hour and along the Shell Island area. They are wild animals, so sightings can’t be guaranteed, but our captains keep an eye out, and guests frequently get to see dolphins during the cruise.

Where do tiki boat tours go? Do you go to Shell Island?

Chevron down

Depending on the tour you book and the day’s conditions, tiki tours typically cruise through the Grand Lagoon and around the Shell Island area for scenic views and great photo opportunities. Some tours may include time near Shell Island for swimming or snorkeling, while others focus more on cruising and sightseeing.

Shared vs private: which tiki tour should I book?

Chevron down

If you want a fun, social experience at a lower per-person price, a shared tiki boat tour is a great fit. Every tour includes a captain and crew, plus onboard essentials like a cooler with ice and bottled water. Inclusions can vary by tour type. If you book a snorkel option, snorkel gear is typically included. Check the specific tour details when booking to see exactly what’s included.

What should I bring on a tiki boat tour?

Chevron down

We recommend bringing:

  • Food and drinks (BYOB)
  • Sunscreen (no spray, please) and sun protection
  • Sunglasses
  • Towel (especially for swim/snorkel tours)
  • ID for check-in
  • Cash gratuity for the captain and crew

How early should we arrive, and where do we check in?

Chevron down

Please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled tour. After you arrive at the resort, park and walk around the right side of the resort, then head down the sidewalk between Building 3 and Reflections to the kiosk to check in. Make sure everyone in your party has completed the online waivers and brings IDs.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Chevron down

If weather conditions are unsafe and we cancel the tour, we will reschedule you for another time/date or issue a full refund. If a tour returns to the dock due to weather and has been out for less than half of the scheduled duration, you’ll receive a full refund. If the tour has been out for more than half, you’ll have the option of a 50% refund or a rain check for another day/time.
